Welcome To The Riverside Readers

Welcome to the The Riverside Readers website. Here you can find out all about the London-based book group hosted by Novel Insights (started by friends and fellow book-bloggers Savidge Reads & Reading Matters).

The Riverside Readers meet on the first Tuesday of every month in a venue somewhere on the Southbank.

Coming soon….

Our next read is Monkey Grip by Helen Garner.

Here’s a synopsis from the publisher’s website:

Inner-suburban Melbourne in the 1970s: a world of communal living, drugs, music and love. In this acclaimed first novel, Helen Garner captures the fluid relationships of a community of friends who are living and loving in new ways.

Nora falls in love with Javo the junkie, and together they try to make sense of their lives and the choices they have made. But caught in an increasingly ambiguous relationship, they are unable to let go – and the harder they pull away from each other, the tighter the monkey grip.

We will be discussing the book at our next meeting on Tuesday February 7, 2012.

Currently the Riverside Readers Membership is closed, however if you are interested then do please email riversidereaders@googlemail.com and we will bear you in mind when space becomes available.

Hi – I’m currently looking to join a book group and would love to be kept on your list of hopefuls. I think I may already have sent an email about this, actually, but I can’t seem to see it in my outbox, but apologies if so. Thanks in advance,
    Jane
